A Bahamian backyard honey harvest captured with my Nikonos V on a steaming July afternoon. We gathered in the tropical ‘Top of the Hill’ garden of my friend Will Simmons for two days of extraction, filtering and bottling of the hive’s bounty. Afterwards, we enjoyed afternoon tea on the front porch along with a delicious honey cake baked by Ryan Austin and Earlyn Mills. I was only stung once.

Proceeds will benefit the Harbour Island Green School, an independent community school led by Mr. Simmons with a focus on leadership, citizenship and environmental sustainability.
